N ov 2 00 6 A hierarchy of integrable PDEs in 2 + 1 dimensions associated with 2 - dimensional vector fields

چکیده
We introduce a hierarchy of integrable partial differential equations in 2 + 1 dimensions arising from the commutation of 2 dimensional vector fields, and we construct the formal solution of the associated Cauchy problems using the Inverse Scattering Transform for one-parameter families of vector fields recently introduced in [1, 2]. Due to the ring property of the space of eigenfunctions, the inverse problem can be formulated in three distinguished ways; in particular, one formulation corresponds to a linear integral equation for a Jost eigenfunction, and another formulation is a scalar nonlinear Riemann problem for suitable analytic eigenfunctions.

The Davey-Stewartson 1(DS1) system[9] is an integrable model in two dimensions. A quantum DS1 system with 2 colour-components in two dimensions has been formulated. This two-dimensional problem has been reduced to two one-dimensional many-body problems with 2 colour-components. The solutions of the two-dimensional problem under consideration has been constructed from the resulting problems in o...
متن کاملMatrix equations of hydrodynamic type as lower - dimensional reductions of S - integrable systems
We show that any classical matrix Q × Q S-integrable Partial Differential Equation (PDE) obtainable as commutativity condition of a certain type of vector fields possesses a family of lower-dimensional reductions represented by the matrix Q × n 0 Q quasilinear first order PDEs solved in [29] by the method of characteristics. In turn, these PDEs admit two types of available particular solutions:...

We suggest simple models which produce the suitable fermion mass hierarchies and flavor mixing angles based on the supersymmetric SO(10) grand unified theory in 6 dimensions compactified on a T 2 /Z 2 orbifold. The gauge and Higgs fields propagate in 6 dimensions while ordinal chiral matter fields are localized in 4 dimensions. We introduce extra vector-like heavy fields in the extra dimensions...
متن کاملN ov 2 00 6 On Conditionally Invariant Solutions of Magnetohydrodynamic Equations . Multiple Waves
We present a version of the conditional symmetry method in order to obtain multiple wave solutions expressed in terms of Riemann invariants. We construct an abelian distribution of vector fields which are symmetries of the original system of PDEs subjected to certain first order differential constraints. The usefulness of our approach is demonstrated on simple and double wave solutions of MHD e...

Generalized Lax equations are considered in the spirit of Sato theory. Three decompositions of an underlying algebra of pseudo-diierential operators lead, in turn, to three diierent classes of integrable nonlinear hierarchies. These are associated with Kadomtsev-Petviashvili, modiied Kadomtsev-Petviashvili and Dym hierarchies in 2+1 dimensions. Miura-and auto-BB acklund transformations are show...
